Software introduction

Germany-based Robot Cake is set to launch their delicious little game Ruins Ahead next week on iOS and Android.

Using similar mechanics to Lemon Jam's upcoming title Lost Maze, Ruins Ahead is a cleanly designed and fluid casual action game. You need to make your way through endless ruins, collecting artefacts, coins, and dodging vicious traps.

The game will also test you three-dimensional thinking, however, as you rotate the ruin and carve out a path for yourself before the floor collapses behind you.

The minimal design very much works in Ruins Ahead's favour. With over 50 characters to collect, from a wizard, to the devil, to Mr. T, the game certainly doesn't lack in terms of charm.

Coming on the 17th August to the App Store and Google Play, we'll let you know the moment the game officially drops.

    &#;&#;
Allstar Game’s tactical RPG, Allstar Heroes, is now in closed beta on Android.

In Allstar Heroes, players build up a team of powerful heroes to take into battle against the Darkness, an evil foe threatening to take over the world.

There are dozens of unique heroes to collect, all of which can be equipped with deadly weapons, levelled up to gain new skills, and placed in one of the thousands of battle formations available.

Each stage in the game is a different battle where you’ll test your skills against an AI opponent - if you’re skilled enough, you can even prevent their attacks entirely.

If PvP is more your thing, you can take your team into battle against a friend over Bluetooth or compete against one of thousands of players in the Arena.

The best part about Allstar Heroes is that it can all be controlled with just one finger.

To celebrate the Allstar Heroes closed beta test, Allstar Games is offering players the chance to receive some free in-game items by signing up for the in-game rewards on the official website.
This article is sponsored as part of Steel Media Preferred Partners.

    A BOY stole a lesson-book from one of his schoolfellows and took it home to his Mother. She not only abstained from beating him, but encouraged him. He next time stole a cloak and brought it to her, and she again commended him. The Youth, advanced to adulthood, proceeded to steal things of still greater value. At last he was caught in the very act, and having his hands bound behind him, was led away to the place of public execution. His Mother followed in the crowd and violently beat her breast in sorrow, whereupon the young man said, "I wish to say something to my Mother in her ear." She came close to him, and he quickly seized her ear with his teeth and bit it off. The Mother upbraided him as an unnatural child, whereon he replied, "Ah! if you had beaten me when I first stole and brought to you that lesson-book, I should not have come to this, nor have been thus led to a disgraceful death."&#;

Assassin's Creed III sucked. I said it. Fight me. And before Switch users are going to get a crack at the Ezio trilogy, a.k.a The Best Assassin's Creed Games, it looks like we're going to be stuck with one of the weakest entries in the entire franchise.

As spotted on Reddit, there's a couple of Czech retailers listing the so-called Assassin's Creed III: Liberation Edition for Switch, which not only comes with a game that somehow made the American Revolution super dull, but also ACIII: Liberation, the first time in the entire franchise where you finally got the chance to play as a woman. Which is actually pretty cool!

Liberation was originally a Vita game, which means we reviewed it back in the day - we even gave it a Bronze Award, though the words feel more like a 6/10 to me. I personally thought it was alright, but the idea of having the first ever female character in the AC universe dress up as a slave or a rich lady for parts of the game still feels pretty gross.

If you thought you’d had your fill of bubble popping, color matching puzzle games, think again. Tiny Bubbles arrives today to make you rethink everything you knew about mobile puzzles. It plays a bit like a grade-school science experiment, with tiny soap bubbles magnified on a petri dish. You’ll match and create colors in your soapy solution to free friendly sea creatures.

Tiny Bubbles came in second place at our Big Indie Pitch at GDC 2018, and for good reason. Based on the work of the developer’s MIT scientist grandfather, Tiny Bubbles presents the player with charming, physically accurate digital soap bubbles painstakingly rendered by the game’s custom molecular dynamics engine. The bubbles cluster together realistically as you fill them with colored smoke to reshape the fizzy formations and match colors.

The game boasts about 15 - 20 hours of gameplay with 172 puzzles to beat. You’ll find several different challenge modes, too—Arcade Worlds, Puzzle Worlds, and Infinity Mode—that will ask you to think in fresh ways.

Tiny Bubbles is out now on the App Store, with an Android release set to launch later this month.

It's been a couple of months since Death Road to Canada's 'Coccyx' update hit iOS, but we won't have to wait much longer for the gargantuan 'Duodenum' update which'll be touching down later this month.

"What hours of work she must have put on it," said Anne. "And the material must have cost more than she could really afford. It is very sweet of her."
